{"id":3674,"date":"2018-09-27T20:47:21","date_gmt":"2018-09-27T19:47:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.railway-models-and-art.co.uk\/blog\/?p=3674"},"modified":"2018-09-27T20:47:31","modified_gmt":"2018-09-27T19:47:31","slug":"bending-tender-flares-a-short-tutorial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.railway-models-and-art.co.uk\/blog\/?p=3674","title":{"rendered":"Bending Tender Flares, a short tutorial"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-redactor=\"1\">As promised on my J6 Build thread after bending the curves in the tender flares I took a series of photos using a piece of scrap to demonstrate how easy it is using a variation of a method described to me by someone on RMweb years ago.<\/div>\n<div data-redactor=\"1\"><\/div>\n<div data-redactor=\"1\">He used the thick rubber heel design for replacing worn ones on shoes I use one of the rubber safe jaws of my Proxxon Vice.<\/div>\n<div data-redactor=\"1\"><\/div>\n<div data-redactor=\"1\">First of all I just use the one soft jaw. You will note that the soft jaw has a thick triangular section that fits in the V groove of the hard vice jaw.<\/div>\n<div data-redactor=\"1\"><\/div>\n<div data-redactor=\"1\">\n<div the soft jaw and the rod using the opposite V groove to hold the rod in position and ensure that the bend is going into the thickest part of the rubber soft jaw.<\/div>\n<div bend<\/div>\n<div data-redactor=\"1\"><\/div>\n<div data-redactor=\"1\">In this photo you can just see where it&#8217;s pushing against the thicker bit of rubber in the V groove<\/div>\n<div
