{"id":6758,"date":"2024-08-28T21:05:07","date_gmt":"2024-08-28T20:05:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.railway-models-and-art.co.uk\/blog\/?p=6758"},"modified":"2024-08-28T21:05:07","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T20:05:07","slug":"more-connoisseur-lswr-brake-van-brake-rod-knitting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.railway-models-and-art.co.uk\/blog\/?p=6758","title":{"rendered":"More Connoisseur LSWR Brake Van Brake Rod knitting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Bank Holiday Monday I took the one to be finished along to Harrogate show and again made excellent progress despite chatting to lots of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What I hadn&#8217;t realised at Redcar show is that although I had assembled parts 23,24, 25 and 26 into a sub unit and dry fitted fitted them I hadn&#8217;t actually soldered them in the second van. Sadly when I piked the van up to pack it away the sub assembly must have dropped off asI couldn&#8217;t find it at home when I discovered it&#8217;s was missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.railway-models-and-art.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Missing-Bit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"369\" height=\"351\" src=\"https:\/\/www.railway-models-and-art.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Missing-Bit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6759\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.railway-models-and-art.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Missing-Bit.jpg 369w, http:\/\/www.railway-models-and-art.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Missing-Bit-300x285.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.railway-models-and-art.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Missing-Bit-315x300.jpg 315w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 369px) 100vw, 369px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So&nbsp;I ended up scratch building a new sub assembly to replace the missing one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I fitted a floor and then fitted the subassembly before fitting the rodding. Having prepared the parts before I went to Harrogate I did all the assembly during the show so didn&#8217;t get any&nbsp;photos of the subassembly after I put it together or without the rods in place.
